Common mode choke coils are made by winding the singnal or supply wires on magnetic cores, used to suppress common mode noise. During the magnetic flux flow inside the magnetic cores, common mode choke coils work as an inductor against common mode current.
As usual, when the noice is common mode noise ,the solution way to lower (if not eleminate) the unwanted noise frequenices is to usa a common mode choke that will have a high impedance at the unwanted frequencies only.
